Use Windows 8 Themes in Windows 7 [How-to Tutorial]
Since Windows 8 themes have “.deskthemepack” set as their default extension, renaming them to Windows7’s default “.themepack” extension won’t do the trick if you want to use Windows 8 themes in Windows 7. If you are still finding a way to install and use Windows 8 themes in Windows 7 then this guide should be your last stop:

Step#1: Install Windows 8 theme and 7-Zip from the above links.
Step#2: Now right-click on the Windows 8 theme file you just downloaded and select 7-Zip > Extract Files option from the side-roll menu to extract the theme file’s content to a new folder on your desktop. The extracted file should have a “.theme” extension. Rename the folder to DesktopBackground.
Step#3: Open that folder and right-click on an image and select “Set as desktop background”. Proceed with the below steps if you want to have all the windows 8 effects in windows 7.
Step#4: Simply right-click on the desktop and choose Personalize option from the side-roll menu, then tap on Desktop Background and then click on Picture location browse button then browse from the DesktopBackground folder.
Step#5: Now click on the Save changes button and then head back to the Personalization menu, from there select Window Color and choose your own Window color and then click on Save Changes.
Step#6: At last, click on the theme file which has been newly created and select “Save theme for sharing option”. Now insert a theme name to save it. Doing so will save the theme with “.themepack” ext. You may now use this newly created theme on your Windows 7 pc.
Enjoy!
