Portable backup plus devices announced by Seagate

The well-known brand in HDD (Hard Disk Drive) Seagate has recently introduced a new collection of backup devices named ‘Backup Plus’. As well as introducing the hardware, Seagate has also introduced their new Backup Plus brand, which I am sure it will succeed in replacing all other Seagate product names.

Together being a hard drive, it also features software which makes the backup process easier and more efficient. All its credit goes to the new Dashboard application that essentially has one bit button for backup. Seagate hard drive manufacturer may well have named it the “easy” button. Now certainly you can create backup by using old methods but this one comes handy as it also offers the ability to upload files &photos to various social networking sites like Facebook, Flickr, Youtube which are officially supported for now. The same dashboard app can also be used to download photos which are present on those social networking sites. If you already have Seagate hardware, then you may be in good luck to get the new Dashboard app/software which is supported with some former devices.

This backup app is meant for PC users since Apple Mac OSX users can make use of Apple’s Time Machine to do the same thing. PC users can take backup of their devices by tapping on ‘Protect Now’, or even initialize a custom backup plan and either run it continuously, scheduled or simply a onetime process.

Oh I absolutely forgot to mention its hardware configuration. It is available in 4 colors i.e.: blue, red, silver and black and can be connected through a USB 3.0 port, while also it gives you the option to toggle between FireWire or Thunderbolt connectivity by just changing the connector given at its rear face.
